Just Because It’s Hard Doesn’t Mean You’re Not Meant for It

You can do hard things.
Day in and day out, you can do hard things.
Even when you may have a headache or be distracted by the problems of your children.
Even when you second-guess yourself. Even when you start out wrong and have to course correct.
Even when the people around you are struggling and doubting their own capacity.
You can do hard things.
Even when you’re tired, short on help, and the situation is messy.
You can think outside the box.
You can brainstorm new solutions.
You can find the answers you don’t know now.
You can take your time to figure it out, even when time seems pressing.
You can do hard things.
You can be an expert and a beginner at the same time.
You can do hard things, even if it means calling in every source of help you can think of.
Even when it requires swallowing your pride or dealing with uncertainty.
Even when it requires some vulnerability on your part.
You can do hard things even when they are the result of someone else’s inadequacy or disinterest.
You can do hard things—even when it’s been a hard day, a hard week, or a hard year.
Not because you’re a martyr,
but because you are resilient.

You have been training for this.
And the hard things you’re doing? They matter…even when no one says it out loud.
Caring for people is hard work.
So the next time you think, “I can’t do this”…Remember: you already are.
And give that nurse some credit, give yourself some acknowledgement.
Allow yourself some rest.
Don’t minimize your own capabilities.
Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you’re not the perfect person for the job.
If you’re in a season where everything feels heavy and you’re not sure how to keep showing up the way you want to, that’s exactly the kind of work I help with. We’ll slow things down, get clear on what matters, and build a way forward that feels more manageable and aligned. If that’s what you need, send me a message and we’ll start there.
